About the PIC

For over 40 years, the Boston Private Industry Council (PIC) has worked at the intersection of business and community interests to connect Boston residents to promising career pathways, while creating a diverse talent pipeline for local employers. The PIC’s work is grounded in the belief that meaningful employment changes lives, lifts people out of poverty, and strengthens the local economy.

As the city’s mayorally-appointed MassHire Workforce Board, the PIC brings together employers, educators, and workforce organizations to help guide the agenda for education and workforce development.

As its school-to-career intermediary organization, the PIC deploys more than 30 frontline staff members to connect high school students, out-of-school youth and young adults, and local college students with jobs and internships as well as additional education and training.
